Description
Gustave Bernardel (1832-1904), well-known for his rosins, was a French luthier based in the city of Paris. He was trained by his father Auguste Bernardel who himself was a contemporary of J.B. Vuillaume. In 1866, Bernardel and his brother, Ernest, inherited their fathers’ firm and in 1892, Gustave became the sole owner. Bernardel’s work showed extraordinary expertise and constant experimentation to his technique. Early 20th century, Bernadel invented his own rosin formula, and his family continues its production today.
