Uli Schnorr Violin (certified)
This beautiful Dutch violin has a two-piece back of close-grained medium flamed maple with deep optics. Back is book-matched and flaming forms chevrons rising from the centerline to the outer edges. Ribs and scroll are of matching maple. The top is of straight, very fine grained spruce. Varnish is a medium light burnt umber, and is evenly applied. Antiquing is limited to some lightening of the color at the edges and at places of normal wear, which looks like genuine player wear. The violin looks to follow a Stradivari model, with appropriate shape and sound-holes. Dark rosewood pegs, chinrest, and tailpiece contrast nicely and complete the look of this beautiful violin.
