Rezvani Brothers Violin
Westlake Village, CA
“The Rezvani brothers built an impressive reputation in Iran as master luthiers before migrating to the United States in 2010 to continue their work handcrafting the finest concert violins, violas, and cellos. Even the most highly accomplished artists are surprised and positively affected by the rich tone they discover when playing a Rezvani instrument for the first time.” (from Rezvani Brothers website).
This beautiful violin has a two-piece maple back with subtle, medium fine figure displaying deep, active optics. Ribs and scroll match. The top is of very fine, straight-grained spruce. Varnish is a very nice medium caramel/café au latte color and is evenly applied. Antiquing is very minimal, and adds character. The violin is modeled on a Guarneri design, with appropriate soundholes and shape. Nice edgework, and beautifully executed purfing. Light color boxwood pegs, chinrest, and tailpiece contrast nicely.
