Description
Pierre Joseph Hel (1842-1902) began his training at the age of fourteen in Mirecourt, France. Five years later, he began working with nephew of J.B Vuillaume, Sébastien, however, evidence shows that Hel had a preference for the models of famed Brescian maker Giovanni Paolo Maggini. In 1865, Hel relocated to Lille to establish his workshop, which he maintained until his death in 1902.
