Description
Eugenio Degani (1842 – 1901) is said to be the founder of the modern Venetian school of violin making. He was trained by his father Domenico and worked as an organ maker. In 1867, Degani moved to Montagnana to establish his own workshop before relocating to Venice in 1888. He trained several well-known makers of the ‘modern’ Veneto school. This violin remains in its original state from maker.
